In this carport conversion, we completed a full extension of the front lounge / dining area into the space previously taken up by the existing car port. Complete reconfiguration of the internal space and the addition of energy efficient windows, custom made front door and feature porch add to the curb appeal of this home. Internally we added hardwood timber flooring and highlight windows to complete the space.
Straight forward decking
Here we installed a fairly basic decking over existing concrete and around existing roof supports. Picture framing with a wider board around the perimeter of the decking adds interest in a cheap but effective way. Running the deck length ways shows off the Merbau timber but also keeps the cost down as less labour is needed to install.
Simple lounge renovation
In this space we simply replaced the windows for energy efficiency, removed the pelmet over the windows and installed sunken hardwood reveals and architraves to match the rest of the home. All new down lights were installed and the old light fitting removed and the hole was patched. Carpet was removed and original flooring was repaired where required and then lightly sanded and polished. Its amazing what a difference a relatively small change can make.
Decking with built in seating
In this space, we added some simple built in seating with inlaid lighting in the front of the seating. Adding building in seating like this adds interest to your decking and provides a great seating option when you have guests.
